Despite volume leveling audio files in accordance with the official recommended guide, many users often like audio-based Skills to use a different volume level depending on the content, the user's environment, or the user's daily routine.
For an improved user experience, it would be great if a Skill could opt to intercept volume level requests, store the volume level as a user preference, and programmatically change the device's volume to the remembered level upon the next Skill launch. Alternatively, this could be a native feature which Alexa could handle without any involvement of third-party developers.

The ability to turn off on-enablement Customer Contact permissions and only use just-in-time permissions would be very valuable as well. In the world of apps (voice or otherwise), obtaining contact information often requires an existing trusted relationship with a customer and clear context regarding why the contact information is being requested. Asking for contact information before the user has established a trustful relationship with your skill (such as at enablement) runs a high risk of accumulating negative user reviews and feedback.
