Slow down Alexa's speech speed - Make Alexa more accessible
I'd very much like my son (11 yrs) to be able to communicate w/Alexa.
He's not an Eng as a mother tongue (native) speaker, as am I ;-)
Regrettably, his command of the English lang is as a 3-4 yrs.
I'd like that Alexa would:
1) Speak A Lot (!) Slower?
2) Reply A Lot (!) more accessible ("lower" English "level")?

There must be some specific reason why this is not standard. Does anyone know?
This is such an obvious need, would help so many hard-of-hearing people, or people with less-than-perfect language skills, that it completely boggles my mind why in 2019 Alexa cannot slow down. I'm currently attempting to study a foreign language with Alexa's help, but without this feature, the apps are all but worthless. Please fix this Amazon!!

It would be great to have different rates of speech be available as standard, built-in intents. Both for slower (for reasons noted by the OP), and also faster. Visually impaired folks who already use software which increase the rate of speech for other types of media could really benefit from this.

If you can get Audible to slow to 75% why can't you do the same with Alexa?
