  1. I have a project coming up for someone that may include sensitive info, and I thought it would be useful to be able to run a script to delete voice clips through the CLI in order to scrub information it might have sent off without having to manually go through the app or something every time.

Or, even better, a way through the ASK to say something like "Alexa, delete voice recordings" and have it delete the recordings in some way.

I had originally asked about this in the dev forum and it was suggested that I suggest it here.…

Thank you for submitting an Alexa feature request. Your request has been received.

  3. Allow users to reorder items within a list ie; move an item up or down and allow sub-categories.
Also, provide a way to see all items on all lists and move an item to another list

  4. Change the volume of all devices, so you can change the volume of all devices at the same time not only a single device. For example if you wrote a routine called “night time” you could set all devices to a lower preset volume so as not to be so loud. Alternatively in the morning you could say “morning and all devices volume could be increased to a preset volume. And so on

  5. As a developer, I would like a field on an incoming intent request payload that tells me whether that request was the result of a barge-in or not.

    Rationale:
Today, there is no way to know whether an incoming intent in a live session was the result of the user completely listening to the previous response, or the result of the user doing a barge-in by invoking their wake word. There are several use cases where this information would be useful, but the two most important are:

    1. If you were giving instructions to your user at the end of your…

  6. I make use of AMAZON.Time slot in my skill. I received feedback from the certification team that I should confirm if a user meant AM or PM when specifying a twelve-hour time. There is one edge case that poses an annoying problem with this feedback.

Since all times are parsed as 24-hour format by the AMAZON.Time slot type, I have no way to know whether a user said, for example "five" or "five a.m." because both get parsed as "05:00". In other words, I lose information about whether the user already explicitly said "five a.m." or if they just said…

  8. Currently (10.2018) there is an 8 second timeout for Custom Skills that is standard across all interactions and isn't customizable.

We are aiming to develop a skill that would allow users to opt-in to a skill that is not constrained by time. I.e. the skill will be designed to listen for an unlimited amount of time.

The application for an unlimited amount of time is educational: for families with children with learning disabilities or language development issues there is an opportunity for specialists to be able to measure and analyze a family's "language environment" by using Alexa. Specialists would be…

  9. Imagine a situation. I have a simple game, which uses states. One state is initial, another one is game state and the last one is the end game state.

I have x amount of intents which are: launch, answer, pass a question, players amount, stop, yes and no intents. I know that these are not all of the required intents, but I want to keep this example short.

Lets say player launches the game. At this state I want user to say how many players he wants to play with. But because game answer intent has a lot of answers…

  10. I have created skill introduces steps to cook meals with voice.
I have a problem. A gap between guidance in my skill and alexa’s voice are so different.

But I can’t change volume of guidance, because they’re used in so many other platforms and they’re affected too.

Could you provide a function to adjust volume of media in video player and audio player?

    That would be nice.Thanks!

  11. Make an option to have the alarm/timers go off on all alexa devices or selected ones instead of just the one where the alarm/timer is set

Make a To Do list widget or make alexa able to add things to other apps like Gtask To Do list etc. I would use this a lot more if I didnt have to open the app to access my to do list

  12. I would like suggest the possibility of incorporating a Camera Skill Kit in order to allow developers to manage the Echo Spot/Show in-built camera on custom skills.

I am thinking about all kind of skills that developers could design, like facial scanners, fall detector, etc..

  13. As more smart home skills are added that work with cycle based processes and devices such as recipe steps, ovens, washer, dryers, etc it would be very helpful to be able to proactively send Alexa notifications such as "Your upper oven preheat is complete" or "Your oven cook timer is complete" or "Your washer is done" or "Your dryer cycle is complete" or " It's time to baste the roast"

We have gotten solid feedback from our consumers saying that if they can start a cycle with Alexa, why can't Alexa tell them when the cycle is complete. These types of…

  15. Currently audio files must be hosted on an Internet-accessible HTTPS endpoint on port 443 and authorization isn't supported, so a developer can't use an endpoint that requires authorization.
This limits the choices of media and forces customers to make audio files publicly accessible, while a customer should have the option to make his audio files available only through the Alexa skill/Mobile app he owns.

  16. Because routines are a way to control multiple things at once, they are used pretty frequently. When too many routines are created, the list gets disorganized and a little chaotic. Why not have the ability to group your routines by the rooms they control?

  18. When a user disable a smart home skill the devices connected to that skill are remain visible inside the Alexa app.

    The user cannot control them:
    - in the app under each device the misleading error "server is unresponsive" is showed under each device.
    - if controlling via voice the user receives the response: "the skill linked with X is not enabled, please enable the skill to control this device".

still having the devices showed up is confusing for the user. That has to manually remove all the devices linked to the removed skill manually.

    So my request is to…

  19. It would be useful to be able to crossfade between 2 audio tracks or streams.

If Track A was playing, then the track finished (or user says, 'Alexa, next') and Track B was enqueued, an option should be available in the response to fade between the 2 tracks.

If Stream A is playing, and a user says 'Alexa, next' (or any other audio control), an option should be in the response to fade between Stream A and B.

This would enable greater quality soundscapes and immersion. It would be an excellent benefit to innovative experiences in voice formats.

  20. If you want to add the ability to, for example, control blinds in your smart home skill, the only option you have is the Alexa.PercentageController Interface.
This leaves you with the option to control your blinds by saying something like: "Alexa, set blinds to sixty". This feels very unnatural in our opinion. Wouldn't it be much more convenient to control such devices by saying: "Alexa, open/close blinds"? An optional "Alexa, stop" utterance could then interrupt the process.
