  2. Could you please create a python version of the skill-sample-nodejs-audio-player sample code? I'd love to see a multi-stream example where the user could skip forward / backwards by a user specified number of seconds.

  4. In alexa-hosted, we can use S3 as persistent adapter although Iin self hosting, DynamoDB seems most popular. but S3 free tier such as 2000 PUTs per month per account is too small as persistent storage and it is totally difficult to use S3 as DB instead of DynamoDB.

  6. Just a bit of feedback on the certification process before an Alexa Skill gets published.
    It now takes 5 business days.
    My skill failed two test cases so after correcting it and re-submission on the same business day I am assuming it will take another 5 business days for certification after re-submission.

    So I would like to suggest that as part of developer.amazon.com a suite of automated test cases can be run by developers as part of submission so that they immediately get a test report which also goes to the Alexa Skill Certification Team.
    This will reduce the developer…

    • Suggestion

    Push notifications in SMAPI when skill status changes.

    • Problem

    It is currently possible to get status of the skill in certification by making a request to SMAPI, but this is not very efficient and would require polling to be always up to date if skill is out of cert or not. This doesn't only increase a load on SMAPI, but also costs extra for skill developers to poll API. If there would be a push notifications API which could post events, when skill status changes, that would be really helpful. It would allow to build skill creators to save…

  12. When your skill is Live, you will identify phrases that user would use to interact with your skill. It would be nice if we could add or change utterances and build the skill model without submitting for certification process again

  15. If I'm not wrong, we (I'm French, so I'm speaking about possibilities for French skills) can only submit free skills.
    I also understand that in the future (soon I hope) we will be able to have in-skill purchase feature.

    But: I would like to simply have the possibility to make non-free skill, that the user have to pay before downloading (as for classic phone apps)
    The skill should be submitable as free skill, in order to let the first users testing it and rating it freely, and then to switch to not-free just by changing an option (users already having…

  16. I discovered a weird bug in German:

    • Slot with name "forWhom"
    • Slot Value: "me"
    • Synonym for "me": "mich"

    When you elicit the slot and answer "mich", I am getting this:

    "forWhom": {
    "name": "forWhom",
    "value": "Mitch",
    "resolutions": {
    "resolutionsPerAuthority": [
    {
    "authority": "...",
    "status": {
    "code": "ERSUCCESSMATCH"
    },
    "values": [
    {
    "value": {
    "name": "me",
    "id": "me"
    }
    }
    ]
    },
    {
    "authority": "...",
    "status": {
    "code": "ERSUCCESSNO_MATCH"
    }
    }
    ]
    },
    "confirmationStatus": "NONE"
    },

    Where does "Mitch" come from?

  17. For the AMAZON.Date Slot, Alexa does not seem to understand numbers like 28 or 25 as the day. It just does not resolve to anything, no mattter how clearly I speak out "Achtundzwanzig" (28 in German). It works with 11, 15 and the like, but with many others it doesn't - 28 in particular.

    example where it does not work:
    "Achtundzwanziger August 2018".

    Hello,

    Thank you for submitting an Alexa Skills Feature Request. We are happy to inform you that the feature you have requested has launched!

    We can confirm that the most recent version of the AMAZON.DATE built-in slot resolves dates containing numbers like “acht und zwanzigste/r” and “fünf und zwanzigste/r” correctly to either “28” or “25”.
    Please note that the date is provided to your service in ISO-8601 date format, which means the utterance “acht und zwanzigster august zwei tausend achtzehn” returns the value “2018-08-28”, for example*:
    ‘slots’: {
    ‘date’: {
    ‘confirmation_status’: ‘NONE’,
    ‘name’: ‘date’,
    ‘resolutions’: None,
    ‘value’: ‘2018-08-28’}
    }

  18. I'm trying to get Alexa to understand the German "zehnter august neunzehn hundert zwei und achtzig" as date, but it always recognizes this as {"value": "2018-08-10"}. It seems it's impossible to pass past dates to Alexa. I think it would be valuable to have that feature.

    Hello,

    Thank you for submitting an Alexa Skills Feature Request. We are happy to inform you that the feature you have requested has launched!

    We can confirm that the most recent version of the AMAZON.DATE built-in slot also resolves past dates into the correct output value.
    Please note that the date is provided to your service in ISO-8601 date format, which means the utterance “zehnter august neunzehn hundert zwei und achtzig” returns the value “1982-08-10”, for example*:
    ‘slots’: {
    ‘date’: {
    ‘confirmation_status’: ‘NONE’,
    ‘name’: ‘date’,
    ‘resolutions’: None,
    ‘value’: ‘1982-08-10’}
