  1. Everyone likes the padlock in their URL bar. But, most (if not all) security breaches come from database theft, not IP packet sniffing -- especially sniffing of audio streams. Requiring SSL for audio streams/files is an extra complication that brings no benefit to the user, but introduces additional burden to the developer. Eliminate this requirement.

  2. In the APL Video component the play speed cannot currently be increased or decreased. Adding a speed attribute would be useful for some use cases: e.g. games with higher difficulty could increase the play speed for a video-presented task.

  3. The current limit is 4 minutes. Our app plays backing tracks for guitarists and this is way too short. Please increase to at least 20 mins.

  4. Currently, there's no good built-in AWS solution for load balancing requests for a server-based app. Requests are routed through NLP, and as a result, routing based on user cookies is not supported. The Application Load Balancer provided by amazon uses cookies to identify users by default, and therefore cannot route sticky sessions.

    In order to support load balancing via ALB, requests need to either maintain session cookies, or add another routing rule around parsing request json for the amazon user Id.

  5. I need access to the user response audio clip in order to map intonations, pitch, speed, etc. Please prioritize enriching the ASK SDK with a method to retrieve the audio response clip and ability to save the audio clip to a json, mp3, or wav file for processing.

  6. "Threshold" notification capability
    Scrape any web source for information (temperature, price of a commodity, etc). Notify when item reaches target value. e.g. Notify me when Silver reaches $40 Cad., when temperature in my area reaches 15 C, etc.

  7. For large organizations I would like the ability as a developer to create sub- developer accounts within my developer account so that I can give each of my business units/divisions/affiliates a developer account to work in without them having access to ALL dev and production skills in the account. They should only be able to see the skills they are working on, whereas anybody at the top level account can see everything. This is especially important when a developer account receives a particular agreement/protection (in this case our developer account is protected by a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement (BAA) so…

  9. My wife suffered a severe traumatic brain injury in a fall. She also had a stroke affecting her left side. She is also a senior. To say she has trouble holding and using her iPhone is an understatement. My solution was to mount the Echo Show on a rolling stand. That solved just one problem.

    If it were possible to securely and fully control her Echo Show remotely, I believe there is a great business opportunity here, especially, during COVID-19, where connecting people who need help with technology is a growing market. I haven't seen my wife in person in…

  11. To help users decide whether a skill should be used it would be great to have a 30 second audio clip with a promo / preview of a skill.

    Similar to how the app store has videos or images of apps the user can listen before committing to enabling or invoking the skill.

    These clips would surface in three places:

    1. On the skills directory page in the Alexa App
    2. On the skills directory page in the amazon website
    3. As an option to listen to when Alexa recommends a skill

    The audio clip would be uploaded / submitted during the submission…

  12. A recent update is the ability to silence a recurring alarm, but the interaction is tedious. I should be able to say “cancel next 10PM alarm”. Simple! Instead I have to say “cancel 10PM alarm”, wait for her to say “do you want to cancel this alarm forever?” and reply “no!” The keyword “next” should sufficiently describe my intention. Please add this functionality.

  14. I originally posted this as an 'issue' for the ASK Java SDK but was advised that this "seems to be a feature request for change of behavior in dialog management for alexa requests and is not related to the SDK itself". I guess that's right. Nonetheless an edited version of my 'issue' gives you the context.

    Expected Behavior

    When addDelegateDirective(updatedIntent) from a LaunchRequest, if Auto Delegation is disabled for the skill? for LaunchRequests? for the updatedIntent? (however it should be done), then behave as for the same situation when the delegating request is an IntentRequest: giving in-code control over the…

  15. It would be great to understand the total number of people who currently have the skill enabled. Right now we are only given the number of people who enabled the skill each week but there is no information on the number of people who have disabled the skill.

  16. Couple of things that could make it easier from a user perspective if you don't mind the feedback

    You can only see 10 utterances per page, would be great to be able to see 50 / 100 per page

    Would be good to filter on the columns, e.g. filter, all the expected intents with "xyz"

    Would be good to duplicate an notation set to then use again with edits

    Would be good to be able to download an annotation set as a CSV, so you can edit and then upload again

  17. A generic Notification proactive schema can look like below

    Event Name - AMAZON.CustomAlert.Available

    message example - vehicle <content.name> <customalert.message> at <customalert.time>
    example

    event: {
    name: AMAZON.CustomAlert.Available,
    payload: {
    customAlert: {
    time: 2028-11-20T21:00:00Z,
    message: String
    }
    content: {name: vehicle name}}

  18. we are working on connected car skill. we want to send custom notifications to user for example when there is harsh driving, geofence breach etc. the format of the notification might be

    <any string > at <datetime>

    where any string - mandatory (size of string should not be greater then suitable for alexa)

    for example
    <car1 entered geofence> at <21-8-2020 12:00 PM>
    <harsh driving detected by car1> at <21-8-2020 12:00 PM>

  19. Our service has multiple frontends. For this example, let's assume we have an Alexa Skill and Web interface.

    CASE 1: User subscribes via Web and uses the Web. OK
    CASE 2: User subscribes via skill and uses the skill. OK
    CASE 3: User subscribes via the Web and users the skill. OK (The skill can check the payment API of the web application for sub status.)

    FAIL CASE: User subscribes via Alexa skill and uses the web app. There is no way for the web application to verify the Alexa skill subscription status.

    Please add this.

  20. I want the direction of voice heard by echo pass to my robot (through ZigBee, or Internet), so that the robot could make its move to that direction.
    This feature is CRITICAL for home robot control. In case the robot has a map of the room, and could navigate by itself, also the position of Echo in room is known, once a command is made, the robot could move to that direction by itself.
    Why such important feature is not supported yet?
