  1. My idea has two parts:
    1. Add a web editor for routines also on alexa.amazon.* that works like android/iOS app editor
    2. Add also an "advanced mode" where you can directly write code and, maybe, add more complex logic, variables ecc...

  2. In developing APL/APLA skills one often gets "Invalid Response" with zero indication of what was invalid. Either give a better error message or expose the internal logging of the document parser.

  3. Have the ability to name each section of the house and set each zone to a separate temperature setpoint.

For example if I wanted to keep my bedroom cooler than the rest of the house I could create a zone and set a different temperature for it.

During device discovery the thermostat could say it has X number of zones available

  4. I have a skill that uses skill connections to transfer users to other skills.

This skill uses webAPI for its visuals and I'd like the user to be able to commence the skill connection via touch.

This is possible via APL but not currently via webAPI. It would be good if this was supported for webAPI skills too as APL doesn't support the level of animation or continuous background music provided in our webapp.

  5. Currently the volume of Alexa's voice when provided through webAPI transformers is quieter than the native Alexa voice which skills that use webAPI harder for customers to understand.

You can partially solve this by increasing the gain of the TTS file you receive but it clips and sounds low quality compared to Alexa's native voice.

Fixing this would improve the usability and quality of webAPI skills (as users will be able to hear them better and the audio will sound better) and will prevent the user needing to stop the skill in order to change the volume.

  6. I need help with Alexa implementation.

That is, I want Amazon.searchQuery to return results from Alexa so that the user can respond based on the results.

    The conversation should continue.

  7. Right now, if you have an AMAZON.Time slot, for example, and you have read back that slot value in a confirmation, even if you use a say-as interpret-as "time", the readout will be in military / 24 hour time rather than 12 hour time which is what most people would use conversationally.

For example, if I say "One thirty PM" in a slot, the playback in the confirmation will be "Thirteen Thirty".

  8. Be able to put in breaklines in ISP JSON file for long descriptions. It works when you edit the skill.json file when you write content in the Description box on your skill so the same should be applied for description boxes of an ISP product.

  9. See more detailed information about custom tasks in the skill metrics interface. At moment I can only see the engagement of all tasks, but it would be awesome to filter it by the task identifier and campaign parameter (a2z_ref).

  11. The new Proctive Events api has a limited number of specific schemas which greatly limits how customized the notification message can be.

Can we get a "general" type of schema that allows a more flexible message? This would make notifications much more useful.

  12. Alexa - I’ve noticed it’s 10 o’clock and the house alarm is not set, would you like me to set it for you?
    User - Yes (sets alarm)
    User - No (does nothing)

  13. To help users decide whether a skill should be used it would be great to have a 30 second audio clip with a promo / preview of a skill.

Similar to how the app store has videos or images of apps the user can listen before committing to enabling or invoking the skill.

These clips would surface in three places:

    1. On the skills directory page in the Alexa App
    2. On the skills directory page in the amazon website
    3. As an option to listen to when Alexa recommends a skill

The audio clip would be uploaded / submitted during the submission…

  14. Figure a way for the shopping list to be set "outside" the Alexa app, to stand alone versus having to go through multiple screens on the phone while you're in the store "just" to get to your shopping list!

  16. Allow users to collaborate on the translation of Skills. As happens on many opensource platforms, I can collaborate with the translation of other users' skills. This would allow the expansion and dissemination of Skills that are currently not available in many languages. Thank you

  17. I’d like to be able to move an audio file into the lists of alarm sounds available. So I could wake up to a customized file.

  19. The Smart Home Skill tutorial is thorough. However, it includes large amounts of Python code for the individual to copy and paste into their program. For someone looking to write a program in Java or any other language this isn't very helpful.

  20. The AnimateItem command can be used to create animations for the opacity and transform properties. With the release of APL 1.6, many more properties have been unlocked for dynamic updates, such as the height and width of a component. However, the AnimateItem command does not support these properties, instead you have to use for example Easing Functions to implement animations for these properties. In my opinion, the Easing Functions are relatively complex in terms of their structure, and furthermore they can currently only be defined statically, which means that, as with the AnimateItem command, I have to define the initial and…
