Allow Unicast to accept an array of userids for proactive events
Allow Unicast to accept an array of userids for proactive events.
With Multicast you can send to all users who have notification permissions enabled. With Unicast you send to specific users. There is not a way to send to a specific group of people. This would be very helpful if you want to send notifications to people who want to be notified for a specific thing.2 votes -
Loading audio with offset can be slow, losing audio context.
My skill allows pausing an MP3 (eg for a phone call) and then resuming from the point we left off; I capture the offset and then feed it back in with the play request.
If the resume occurs before other Alexa operations are used, this works well.
But if the user has asked Alexa to do other things, those skills may have played their own MP3's. When that happens it can take a painfully long time for Alexa to find its place and resume playing, particularly when the user paused (for example) 45 minutes into an hour-long episode.
I presume…

Allow multiple custom commands or skills in a single routine
Presently, if you create a routine and select either custom command or skill, then go to add another one or either of these, the selection gets greyed out thereby not allowing for multiple custom commands or skills in a single routine.

Remote Command Execution Notification
It'd be great to have a schema allowing the notification to the user that a command requested via a 3p skill has been executed successfully or not. For example
U: "Alexa, ask {my skill} to set the temperature of my oven to 220C and tell me when it's ready to bake"
A: "Ok, I'll send you a notification when the oven is ready"
... several minutes later...
<yellow light>
U: "Alexa, what's new?"
A: "You have one new notification from your oven. The {command} has been executed on {target}"or
A: "one new notification from your oven. Something went wrong…

allow access skills from another region/language
More than 1 million Bulgarian immigrants scattered across the globe are struggling to preserve their cultural identity/heritage and to pass it over to their children. There are Alexa skills (like "Bulgarian library" skill) which could help them teach BG-language to their children however currently Amazon does not allow access to this skill from anywhere except US,UK,CA,AU. Most of the world (Germany, France, Italy, Spain, etc) has no access to it. So, in this case splitting the globe into regions makes no sense whatsoever.
Would be greatly appreciated by thousands of people IF Amazon allows access to skills which are outside…

Interaction Path in Dev Console does not include APL
While the Interaction Path in the dev console is very handy it does not include APL interactions. More than half my users use the Show and I'd like to see what buttons they press.

Give us roundtrip time from alexa request to alexa response (regional lambdas)
My skill is popular around the world. I want to know if it's worth creating region specific lambdas just for latency. Currently I can get timing of the lambda itself but that doesn't include the alexa to/from lambda time.

Allow more ISP subscription options besides one month or one year
I have a sport skill. I want to offer a subscription for the season. 99 cents for a month is too steep and 99 cents for a year is awkward, I'd like to specify n months.

Allow progressive response to an APL button press
Allow a progressive response to an APL button press. Currently this gives a "progress not allowed here" message. If you're using APL then a button press could easily result in some processing before the next APL screen is ready.

Allow multiple start times in a routine
Having a single routine for example turn light on, but then have the ability in that routine to set multiple on and off times.
So instead of having 3 or for routines to turn a light on, you have 1 routine with multiple times

Add an audio challenge option to the visual challenge on the web portal when creating a new skill.
I am a totally blind software developer and I want to learn how to develop Alexa skills. On the developer console when I go to create a new skill and enter the initial information about it, there is a visual only CAPTCHA to resolve before I can create the skill. I can't see the images so can't complete this CAPTCHA. Other CAPTCHAs I've found on Amazon have an audio option which is very good.
Can we have an audio alternative on the CAPTCHA please when creating a new skill. Better still, maybe no CAPTCHA at all. After all, whoever is…

AMAZON.TrashCollectionAlert.Activated with custom garbage types
It would be very helpful if we could define our own garbage types (with translation)

Context Based Skills
Allow skills to be context sensitive based on the setting/location of the given alexa device.
For example, if you have an echo dot in each bedroom of a 3 bedroom house, it would be a lot more intuitive to be able to walk into the bedroom and say "Alexa, turn on the lights" - with the context being associated with the echo dot in that room - inferring just the lights in that room, not all lights in the house.
In addition, you'd still have the traditional tagging such that from elsewhere you would have to provide context - so…

phone to alexa
it would be interesting to have the possibility to activate a skill by pressing a button from an app or by pressing a link on a website.
Here is an example scenario.
The skil "Magnitudine Assoluta" (amzn1.ask.skill.27a6febc-be8c-46ad-94a8-3211d12d87ad) satisfies the user's requests by searching on the website www.magnitudine-assoluta.it the topics desired by the user.
But if the user is comfortably lying on the sofa with the phone in his hand and is browsing the site, he could find an article, understand that he is interested and press a link "Listen with Alexa", which somehow activates an intent of the skill on…

Pause reminders until tomorrow
“Alexa Pause reminders until tomorrow”
If you have a reminder to take pills that keeps reminding you until you take them, then you can say Alexa Pause the reminder until tomorrow. That would be very helpful.2 votes -
