  1. allow for more than one invocation name

I build skills for banks and CUs. In reality, some end users will include the term "bank" when they ask Alexa for something and others won't. I'd like the ability that for a bank skill, the main invocation name would be "XYZ United Bank," but that I can mask variations of this such as "XYZ United" that will also work. This is critical to user satisfaction!

  2. Detect if Alexa was interrupted

It would be great if you could detect if Alexa was interrupted or not.

    An example:

Alexa: I found three messages. Message one: [Message one title]. Do you want more information?
    User: Yes.
Alexa: [Message one content] (much). Message two: [Message two title|. Do you want more information?

It could be that the user interrupts Alexa when she says the message one content because he notices that he knows the message already. Then he would say "Alexa, next".

When Alexa was finshed and the user says "next", Alexa should give message three.
When Alexa was interrupted, she should give message…

  3. Enable multi-device gameplay

Currently gameplay is limited to single device. Communicating cross device — ex. Drop in — is available, but not gameplay. Being able to challenge/play multiple devices at different locations — rooms, houses, etc.

  4. Integrate local testing in ask-cli

Its very annoying, that you can not test your skill without deploying it. Especially because you have to change the lambda endpoint when updating your skill because otherwise your live lambda function will be overwritten.

It would be great to be able to test locally like 'ask-simulate' without deploying.

  7. Developer Support Contact Us - Add ticket status, message history & make cases/tickets closed to general public

Developer Support Contact Us link that shows the message history and current status of opened tickets.

Right now the only options are to post in the Alexa Skills Forum or submit a contact us ticket here.

    https://developer.amazon.com/support/contact-us?caseID=XXXXXX

Creating a portal where a user can check the status of their tickets would help reduce the number of duplicate submissions, less work connecting the tickets to each other.

I'd also recommend that the public can't view the ticket's message history and status unless they are logged in with valid permissions, so skill-Id's and details about IP won't be shared to the general…

  8. Add some kind of "anti-trigger" to ignore the wake word in audio.

Allow the adding of some kind of "anti-trigger" that will stop Alexa waking itself when the invocation word is mentioned in a podcast, or SSML audio. And/or, allow a flag that will reduce sensitivity to the wake-word during a particular piece of audio, using the mic array to detect whether the wake word was generated internally or externally.

I know that there is an unofficial theory that self-invocation can be lessened by boosting / cutting certain frequencies around the actual wake-word, but this isn't always practical where third-party audio is involved.

  11. Interract with other entry other than voice or self configure in routine

Possibility to expose an API to remotly interract with alexa, or give the routnie to be more complex to send ifttt command and auto set alexa commande and request.
For example , i actualy try to run complexe routines passing by ifttt, push bullet, local node js server to :
    - request alexa to connect to bluetooth
    - start AV receiver : working fine
    - configure AV receiver to good entry, volume, etc : working fine
    - request Alexa to connect to bluetooth : impossible without another voice commande
    - request alexa to set volume to 5 : impossible without…

  12. Unlink Endpoint

Please provide an endpoint for when a user disables (unlinks) a linked skill.
This will allow us to know its time to delete any data we have for the user, and therefore be good to users with the use of their data.

  13. Service Status Monitors

On March 2nd there was a system-wide Alexa outage, taking down the ability to use the voice assistant, as well as the ability to use the developer console.

For many of us in the development community, this appeared at first to be an issue with our skills, so we ended up getting spun up in troubleshooting mode.

As a developer, I would like the ability to check the overall health of the Alexa components that I am dependent upon.

AWS does a great job of this exact thing, and could serve as a model: https://status.aws.amazon.com/

  15. bug in Analytics locale selection

    bug.
for my skill which is published for US, UK, and CA, the Analytics view lists the option for U.S. twice, and no option for C.A. One of the two U.S. options returns no data. The other works as expected.

  17. InvalidSkillStage

When the skill is in the certification process, it shouldn't say that that there is a violation that requires re-building the interaction model. You can't build while it is in review.

  18. Allow to add custom channels in Video Skills

At the moment there is a hardcoded list of channels in the video skill. It should be possible to add new channels to the list.

  20. An IAM permissions 'calculator' that generates a custom/baseline policy for external Skill Devs

Solely to address 'least permissive' practices during the engagement of a developer with an AWS account having been engaged to work to create a Alexa skill(s) on behalf of another AWS account.

Although some of the role templates in IAM are comprehensive, the concept of "Least permissive is always the best approach." 'could' be strengthened by being verifiable to a posted AWS best practice set of specific outlined activities.

The benefit is that a 3rd party sees that AWS has published those permission sets; the Dev. is able to refer to AWS distilling a best-practices starting point, and 'least permissive'…
