  1. Alexa Feature Request - Whole House Audio Zone Smart Home Device Type

A device type for a Smart Home Whole House Audio System Zone would be helpful. It could have features for zone on/off, volume up/down, mute/unmute, input/source selection, etc. This can be used with various manufacturer's whole house audio controllers/amplifiers such as HTD, Monoprice, Russound, Sonos, etc.

  2. volume

A lower lowest volume on Echo Dot is needed. Currently the lowest volume setting achieved through the App controls is too loud. As dots are in bedrooms mainly, it needs to be lower to allow you to fall asleep.

  3. Adjust audio volume

Have preset volume levels for drop-in, music playing, speaker groups and basic use. Having preset levels would be nice for drop in then a preset level for when I switch to music or speaker groups. All preset volume levels should be adjustable based on users preference

  4. APL video "loading" and/or "loaded" event(s)

APL video "loaded" event to enable showing a screen before a video has fully loaded so that the user is aware that the media is still loading. e.g., "Loading..." Right now, APL only has events for after the video has started playing. This is too late to elegantly switch from a "loading" screen to the video.

  5. Have a command to restart the Echo device(s).

Every so often, Echo devices take longer to respond, or generally start performing sub-optimally. This is typically resolved by restarting the unit. It seems I have to do this about once a month or so. Obviously, performing a power cycle can be done physically by pulling the plug, but having a command to tell Alexa to restart the device would be much more desirable, especially if a user can create a routine to restart all devices, or schedule a reboot every so often.

  6. Energy consumption & production devices support

Native support for devices that are able to return energy consumption and production. In addition to being able to display the information within Alexa, this will allow for certain automations based of energy usage. Eg. Turn off porch light if energy consumed within the past 12hrs = X. Turn on washing machine when energy production = X. etc...

  7. Ask Alexa what's its MAC address and What its IP address are so I don't have to look in the APP

It would be great if I could just ask the echo for what it's MAC or IP address were without going into the APP.

  8. Add Korean as a lanuage.

My siblings and I all use Amazon products. We are a multicultural and bilingual family with Korean as our second lanuage. Our challenges with your products are solely based on our mother's inabilty to use your products because her 1st lanuage is Korean. It would be extremely awesome if Korean and other languages on your devices
Also, the ability to toggle back and forth between the two languages. Since most multi cultural families who speak more than one lanuage tend to go back in forth between languages.

I love your products, but unfortunately without these features my entire family is…

  9. allow creation of Home Content panes

On an Echo Show it's possible to add reactive skills that add capabilities in response to spoken instructions, but it would be neat to be able to develop (either as a packagable skill and/or user defined blueprint) additional panes for the Home Content carousel ... for instance I'd like to display a 2 day agenda that merges everything on my work and personal calendar, or displays the most recent aircraft spotted from my FR24 tracker...

Panes could point to an external webpage which delivers a transparent background content, with cache/timeout settings so it doesn't poll too often...

  10. Alexa, turn on blue shade or alexa, change brightness %

For devices with a screen such as the show and the fire tablet(with show mode). Should be able to activate blue shade or adjust the brightness amount(similar to being able to adjust volume levels) for areas where you might have a screened device in a darkened room and don’t want it at max brightness. I use a fire tablet as my bedside alexa device and have to manually adjust the screen brightness at bedtime so it’s not blinding in the dark.

  11. Understand basic english adverbs

My grandfather uses alexa for menial requests such as the date and time, weather forecasts, reading the bible etc... However he often makes requests like such: "Alexa kindly <operation>" which she unfortunately doesn't comprehend. Is it possible to add some degree of adverb functionality/recognition in?

  12. Let users reply while Alexa is speaking (without wake word)

    Reasons:

    1. Because it's so natural for people to do! And Alexa is a product for people.

    2. Users quite often start to speak while Alexa is still speaking or just finished speaking and haven't yet turned on its mic.
There is a blue light, but sometimes users speak to Alexa when it's outside of their view site. Alexa is designed to be for eye-busy experience, and eyes might be busy while interaction.

    3. Alexa is actually listening to users all the time while it's speaking - but now it only detects a wake word. So why don't allow a full intent there?

  13. ”Hey Alexa”

I have a stutter, and find it hard to say any of the wake words easy. Could an option be added for users to say “Hey Alexa” rather than just “Alexa”

Whenever I say Hey Alexa, it doesn’t seem to recognise it

  16. Improved Ring compatibility: motion snooze

Currently you can snooze the motion detection on the Ring cameras (when gardening etc.) but Alexa continues to shout notifications every 5 mins when someone is in the garden. This is not great for whoever stays indoors. Improving the compatibility so that Alexa also does not notify for movement when ring is in motion snooze would be great. Otherwise you have to turn the cameras off (not ideal) or mute each individual Alexa. Being able to snooze the motion of the cameras from Alexa would also be appreciated.

  17. Allow multiple Alexa devices (If called different names) to relay commands to the alternatively named Alexa

I have multiple Alexa's one is attached to hi fi simply called Alexa. The other is on my work bench called Computer. Would be nice to still be able to say 'Alexa' play xyz while at my workbench and have the device named Computer relay the command to the one attached to the hi fi without needing any other workaround commands like 'everywhere'

  18. Make Alexa understand two languages at time. Some of us are bilingual and would like to make commands in either or both languages.

Some of us are bilingual and would like to make commands in either or both languages. Sometimes it is easier to ask a question in one language and other times on another.

  19. interactive movie

    I have a genius idea!!!
I think they need to come out with a scary movie that is interactive with Alexa. So during the movie Alexa starts making sounds or playing music or turning lights on and off.

  20. Enable "Alexa for Apps" from Echo devices

"Alexa for Apps" is fantastic; but the vast majority of users don't own compatible mobile devices. They own some variant of the Amazon Echo in most cases.

Please enable "Alexa for Apps" from all of the Amazon Echo models too.
