  1. Tool to Generating Requests

    For testing backends, it would be nice to create a utility that can generate Alexa requests. I envision it having the form:

    {slot:literal}

    for instance,
    open the {room:kitchen}{device:light}

    and based on the language model, the tool would generate the appropriate JSON request.

  2. BUG REPORT: No SSML sound on Safari (MacOS)

    BUG REPORT: I can not seem to get the SSML examples to produce sound on Safari (MacOS). While on the "Test" function, I hear all the Alexa responses but if I go to "Voice & Tone" and press play, there's no sound at all.

  3. View JSON event in testing console

    In testing where can I view the request and intent being sent? In the previous console sending text would also show the JSON that was sent to alexa. I need this request for debugging.

  4. Bug in the simulator

    Just today I noticed a bug in the Alexa Simulator. I test my skill, it works for the first time, however, it doesn't work (launches, but fails in intent calling) the second time unless I upload the same lambda function code again and save. Anyone else having the same problem? And any idea about the fix?

  5. Show session status visually in Test Simulator

    It’s not clear which state the tool is in during a conversational test.. It’s not clear when a skill session times out and whether default Echo or My Skill will answer your next utterance. It would be nice if the left panel had background shading to indicate you are in the default Echo or a My Skill session and to visually group a set of interactions to one session.

  6. Show the invocation name, intent, slot, in Test Simulator

    1. Pre-fill the utterance text input with the invocation launch such as "open cat facts". Users often jump straight to their intent, and many type "Alexa, " as well; this may steer them into the right usage pattern.

    2. Above the Skill I/O panel on the right, display in bold font, the name of the Intent and any Slots that were heard. It is difficult to scroll down the big block of JSON input and hunt for these after every utterance. This would create a faster feedback loop as developers test various utterances.

  7. Make it easier to repeat entries on the Alexa Simulator

    It would be good on the Test Alexa Simulator to be able to click on previous utterances to repeat them

  8. Make Alexa Skill Test Console compatible with AVG.

    The current skill test console appears to be incompatible with AVG.

    I don't like having to choose between a protected system, and being able to test my skill.

    For now, I will be repeatedly installing and uninstalling AVG as I need to do skill development. It's a hassle.

  9. Add resubmit on doubleclick to each grey submitted box in left pane of simulator, test

    I have spent too much time typing the same commands over and over in simulator test - "ask my skill to blah blah etc".
    It would be a big time saver if the history in the left pane had the ability to resubmit my typed ( or spoken) text in any grey history widget by double-clicking it.

  10. Test Simulation on iOS

    Hi the Alexa test simulator does not work with iOS browsers. When I type in a command nothing happens. It would be nice to have on and iPad so I can developer with my pc and test it on the iPad next to me.

  11. Clear session in test simulator

    Please have option to clear session in Test Simulator. It is frustrating to have session data from a different skill.

  12. Simulator Issues

    Hey I really don't like the new simulator. If there is an endpoint error the simulator just does nothing, nor does it register the error with cloudwatch. I would type out the invocation name and would get 0 response, it was as if the request was never sent. When I would then check the cloudwatch logs there would be nothing reflecting a request either. If I swap to the old version and try the simulator, it will make the request and respond with an error. This will then register in Cloud watch and point me right to where the break…

  13. Testing simulator should not time out

    Prior to 03/08/18, the simulator would not timeout after the standard 7-8 seconds. Meaning that a skill could be opened and the session would be active whether a response was provided immediately or 15 minutes later.
